Prep by removing all oils from your body, donning your sexiest shoes and baring your legs.

1. Position your feet close to the pole.

2. Take hold of the pole (at head height) with your dominant hand. Straighten your arm so your weight is centered behind the pole.

3. Swing your outside leg outward (keeping it straight). Proceed to pivot around the pole on your inside foot. At this point it is okay to let your knee bend slightly. This swing-out and pivot move should be performed simultaneously.

4. Move the outside leg toward the pole by the inside foot and transfer all of your weight to this foot. Hook your inside leg around the pole (make sure to have a tight hold).

5. Arch your back backwards, lowering your hand toward your knee to allow for a more flexible move.

6. Straighten-up and bring your knee down. You are now in “ready position,” free to step into any other moves.

Be creative! Using the above as a guide, add your own twirls, bends and interjections.
