Simply Chaos: Simply stand-up comedy — like Funny People, but without all the penis jokes. This group performs on campus and around Philly, and once a year shares the stage with a guest celebrity comic.

Bloomers: Named for the scandalous clothing item worn by early suffragettes, this group of Penn women perform musical sketch comedy with material a little more risqué than the Victorian undergarment they’re named for. Check out their fall show Nov. 5-7.

Without a Net: Penn’s oldest and only comedy improv group. Think “Whose Line Is it Anyway?” with a Penn spin.

Mask and Wig: This group is old (over a century, actually) and prestigious (the nation’s oldest all-male collegiate musical comedy troupe) and notorious for dressing in drag. And hey, they’re also pretty funny. For Penn students, seeing one of their shows is definitely a must-do before graduation.

Penn Six: Another all-male group. And yes, they’re technically a musical group since they perform a cappella parodies, but their inability to take anything seriously (including themselves) puts them in another league of entertainment.
