Street's To-Do List: June 17

As a finalist on Comedy Central’s Last Comic Standing, he proved his stand-up chops. This weekend famous stoner and VH1 regular Doug Benson (star of Super High Me) will be gracing Helium Comedy Club with his particular brand of acerbic wit and drug humor. Benson’s act is sure to elicit plenty of laughs, the perfect remedy for a hard week of interning. Nothing cures the ills of a conservative workplace like pot jokes. Thursday 6/17, 8:00 p.m., Friday 6/18 and Saturday 6/19, 8:00 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. ($15-20) 21+

Performing arts collective Swim Pony’s new show Survive isn’t something you just sit back and watch. To experience the piece, the audience wanders through the bowels of the Wolf Arts Building, guided by a being from the tenth dimension. Participants are pushed headlong into contemplation of metaphysics, and forced to ponder matters of space and time as they choose the course of their journey. Thursday 6/17, 7:00 p.m., Friday 6/18, 8:00 p.m., and Saturday 6/19, 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. ($20)

Celebrate the change of season at the all-night-long Summer Solstice Festival at the Kimmel Center. The event will feature dozens of musical performers, from mash-up artists Miro Dance Theatre to samba troupe PhillyBloco. A host of other activities, including henna tattooing, tarot reading, and a drag show, are scattered throughout the schedule, culminating in a BYOD drum circle at dawn. Don’t forget your bongos! Saturday 6/19, 3:00p.m. until Sunday 6/20, 5:00 a.m. ($10)
