Fluid is a club with the rare ability to deliver solid theme nights throughout the week featuring a variety of music for an eclectic crowd. Established as a premier spot for deep house, glam rock, drum and bass and international DJs, Fluid provides a sanctuary for several musical tastes.

Housed in a small tan building with a caf‚, it is one of Philadelphia's consistently popular nightclub venues. The sleek interior is a significant contrast from the modest exterior, with deep aqua tones and low lighting. Almost every other night the club is transformed into a hub of underground urban music genres. The crowd is often comprised of hip Philadelphia natives who come to hear the wheels of steel of a local house music legend or a UK garage phenom. Hitting up Fluid becomes something of a weekly tradition to certain fans of the club.

Tucked away just off the bustling South Street, Fluid hosts various nights such as the popular Saturday hip-hop groove night "Tastytreats" featuring DJ Mike Nyce and renowned Roots drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson (when he's in Philly). Fridays are known as soulful house nights, when the city's boho elite flock to groove to the incessant rhythms. Tuesday nights often bring the sensual house music of Philadelphia favorite, DJ/recording artist Vikter Duplaix, as well as West Coast native Marques Wyatt and Beat Generation member King Britt.

To hear the latest top 40 chart toppers, head to any vapid, dimly lit, pseudo swanky bar on 2nd Street. Head to Fluid to hear the best music in the city and to witness the urban Philadelphia culture that most tourists (aka Penn students) never see.
